Looking for an easy, fast and healthy treat that is not messy when your child eats it?  This is a popsicle without any added sugar, flavoring, colors and best of all- it does not stain clothes!  When pineapple freezes it actually has a creamy taste that melts in your mouth.  Not to mention, they make a great low calorie snack for adults and a tasty teething treat for a toddler!

Ingredients:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Sliced pineapple

Directions:

  • Cut pineapple into sticks.  I recommend at least 1 inch wide and about 3-4 inches long.
  • Slide pineapple onto popsicle stick.
  • Freeze for 2 hours.
  • Enjoy!

  5. I love doing this! We have two different sticks to use and my Avon (I sell it) is sending me a kit for freezing strawberries and other fruits in a tray (I don’t like using my ice cube tray for that!) lol Excellent post and pics!

  8. Sounds yummy….only question….is the amount of acid in pineapple okay for little ones? I love eating it, but often feel a tingle in my lips afterwards….just wondering. From the no longer with little ones set, I think these would set off rum punches beautifully, eh?

I have always given my children pineapple and they have always tolerated it without any problem. The earliest I have given pineapple was 11 months for both children. I am sure, as with anything, you can eat too much. However, I would not suspect a long cube of pineapple will do any harm. It is an excellent source of vitamin C which will help your child absorb iron and calcium.
