Two for one!  Making baby food?  Why not make yourself a smoothie as well.  If you are not making baby food, just make this yummy smoothie for you and your family.  It is a fast, cool, refreshing and healthy treat on a hot summer day!  I made this over Memorial Day for a 1, 3, 4 and 6 year old.  They LOVED it!  My son who is one had his mixed with some vanilla yogurt but we omitted the honey (see directions below).

Mango and Pineapple Babyfood and then Smoothie for Family!
Recipe type: Baby Food and Smoothie
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 4 adults
  • 2 cups frozen mango
  • 1 cup diced pineapple
  • 1 tbsp local honey for Smoothie ONLY (not for baby)
  1. Add mango and pineapple to blender and mix well.
  2. Remove portion for baby and set aside.
  3. Add honey and mix well.
  4. Serve smoothie to older children and adults.

This baby food recipe is very high in vitamin C and would be a great addition to yogurt or kale to help your baby absorb the calcium.  It is also great to serve with chicken, beef or egg yolk to help absorb the iron!
