Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites

You can hardly find a person who doesn’t like desserts especially chocolate and peanut butter. Here is a quick and simple dessert for a sweet tooth. Its huge advantage is little sugar that is harmless and even useful.

This recipe was derived from the traditional Peruvian sweets “Alfahores” – two small cookies made of starch, sugar and water with a layer of caramelized condensed milk between them. It’s a traditional Argentinian dessert which is translated as “fantastic” and “marvelous”. This dessert is also popular in Latin America, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and many other countries. There are a lot of variations of it.

This dessert is so light that melts in the mouth. We should thank the Argentinians for creating such a simple but really fantastic dessert.

And here we have a fruit-and-nut version of it.


2 ripe bananas

1/3 cup baking chocolate

¼ cup nut butter

1 ½ tablespoons coconut oil


If you have a bar of chocolate, melt it. You can take any chocolate you like. When melting, put some butter butter in order the choсolate won’t harden at once.

Slice the bananas and arrange them on the baking sheet.

Spread peanut butter onto the banana slices and join two parts. Place them in the freezer for 20-30 minutes or more until they get frozen.

Melt the coconut oil in the microwave.  Stir it in the chocolate. Continue to melt it together until it gets smooth.

Then cover each banana with chocolate. Put the bites into the freezer for about one hour. That’s it! The dessert is ready!

You should store it in the freezer and thaw for a few minutes before eating. Cold and hard enough bananas taste much nicer and the chocolate becomes very thin and fragile, and peanut butter is soft and tender – all together creates unique taste! So, satisfy your sweet tooth quickly! Bon appetite!
